I got a mail from our neighbour Mrs L in Cedar Rapids today.
Always I marvel at the way she carried herself all these years. She holds a full time job in a bank and goes to work early in the morning.
She is a fighter, she had uterus, ovaries and what not cancers. But she just carries herself with a sweet smile always. I've never seen her without a smile on her face.
And, her husband Mr G, an extra ordinary man with a helping hand always for others. He talks about his wife as if they are newly married couple.
He wakes up early and keeps the car warm for her during winter times. They are so much in love with each other.
Both are in their late 70s.
I tell my mother who has a heart block, valve leak and had a silent attack their story. She was feeling like she is incapable of moving ahead like a normal person.
I used to tell her about these two great people whom with everythin against them still moves around as nothing wrong in their life and is as happy as they can be.
In the mail I got today she wrote Mr G had a knee replacement surgery and had a severe heart attack too. And as for her her cancer is aggressive now and is waiting for the insurance people to approve for her to try a new drug.
I just pray and hope both of these sweet people will be able to get this hard times behind them and come out healthier and happier.
I want to grow old like them..
