Happy Easter and Vishu




When I was taking pictures of the appam I made for Easter, my husband was teasing me. He asked me -easter 2006-easter 2007 it goes like that for every year? He knows what it really means to me:) I am the only one who can make such perfect appams, that my father used to make only for Christmas and Easter, in my family . Its always a tension filled time, after I mix the ingredients and wait for the next day to see if it has fermented or not. Just like every time when you roll out the dough for the piecrust, and watch if it can flip over without breaking in to pieces. With the uncertain April temperature, one can never say. But every single time it turned out good. So every time, I am tempted to take picture even though they all look the same! Then I call my sisters and ask what did they make;).Knowing full well that, they don’t make this anymore. One even said this time they bought it from the store! Well, I always tells them, I made appam and meat curry ,just like father used to make and it came out good.wow,what a feeling I get after i say that:) .Now Easter is over and tomorrow is vishu. Mil asked me if i am putting a kani..I didn’t get flowers,normaly there would be a couple of yellow flowers on my backyard, this time.But none are there now. I guess i can still manage:)
