When I thought of restarting learning bharathanatyam (which my freinds and myself studied years ago and discontinued when the teacher moved to another place),I had no idea where to look for. Exactly at that time I got an invitation from a good freind for the anniversary of kalangaan. I learned more about it and decided this is where I want to go.
I joined and when I went for my first class I saw two other girls there. Soon there was 7 of us and became such a friendly group. Going for classes became the most important thing in my life and I didn't want to miss even a single class. My partner offered to come with me and make use of the time I was in class for his walkings.
Two reasons are there for me to continue there, 1) teacher and the second these wonderful bunch of girls. One even wished me happy children's day on November 14th๐. And the teacher is someone who laughs with us, jokes with us. She was never rude or over strict or teaching us with an iron hand. If she was a typical strict stern faced teacher I wouldn't last for even a month. Someone like me who feels suffocated in a typical teacher student atmosphere, this was like a picnic.
Recently we had our arangettam :). I joined there telling the teacher I don't want to do arangettam but just study. But when all the other girls decided to do it and teacher said I wish you could do, I decided to try:).
The whole experience was great, even though I got blank several times on the stage :), but with those girls there on stage I felt so confident. And I did it:).
When my mother saw me on stage she told me she remembered my school days when she used to take me for singing competitions, and most of the time Radhika ( Singer),gets first and I get second. I saw her eyes getting moistened seeing me, with all the health issues she has, she still manged to come along with my mother in law.
The one person I really need to thank is my son who paid for this program :). Thank you baby :)
Again thank you all for giving me this wonderful experience, deeps, anne, sru, jhans, madhs, dhanya, mamtha and shilo :),suja..I didn't miss any, did I? Hope not..
