A short break

The view from the place where we stayed in Cochin was simply beautiful and calming. We stayed inside the Bolgatty . I remember going there on tour trip from school, and at that time we all had to go there in a boat. But now there is a bridge that goes all the way near to the palace that we don’t have to catch the boat at all. I don’t like boat rides much as I am afraid of deep water. The road to the palace from the bridge was the worst I have seen. I didn’t even see a notice saying- under construction we regret your inconvenience!!
Even though the room was a bit small the view compensated for it I guess. Sun rays reflected in the backwaters looked like a bunch of pearls shining. Small boats came so close to the building that we could hear them talk to each other. I loved our stay there and enjoyed the short vacation. Our son was supposed to be coming with us but he decided to stay back and attend the engagement of his Kalari instructor’s sister on the same day we had the engagement function at Cochin and told us we could all go together when the wedding comes . We are thinking of having a short tour when we go to the wedding in and around Cochin, Mattancheri  etc.
The only complain we had was about the food. For just regular plain food they charged almost 1000 for two for buffet. I would anytime prefer the Mourya Rajadhani at Trivadrum on the way to General hospital from Statue for the variety of food they have and the considerably lesser price for it. The pool seemed like not clean enough. There was one guy inside the pool who started singing loudly at night to his heart’s desire, oblivious to the passers-by.  Naturally we believe we can do anything in public and get away with it…..
 but only inside Kerala.
