But then came a change. He said a few days back that he doesn’t mind the walks since it is good exercise for him as he rarely gets time to practice his tea kwon do. In fact he even enjoys the walks!! ). I was surprised as some days I had to fight with him when he asks me to drop him off as he feels sleepy and doesn’t want to walk all that long . Then came the next surprise. Even the lunch was not that bad since he doesn’t take seconds normally!!!Oh well -I thought those are all fine. Then he asked in his sweetest voice if he can stay in that school for 2 more years. I told him No, Absolutely No. He said if it was about financial matter he would understand. I said it is not about the money but of course I wouldn’t mind huge savings in our pockets either. Then seeing the way he changed I thought hard about why this sudden change, and then it dawned on me. Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, there was this girl whom he liked in his class, I put 2+2 together and got 4, sure. So I asked him if that is the reason he wants to stay in that school?? He said not exactly, but that too is one of the reasons besides all his other friends are in that school too.
In the end he said if he must change schools then he is going to have face book account to keep in touch with his friends. I said we will think about it. As far as we both are concerned the kids using internet without adult supervision is like letting our kids walk on highways in the middle of speeding vehicles. That is one thing none of the parents will ever do. We would let them go in the high way when they are old enough to drive, learn how to drive and has a license to drive. Till then they are not safe on those roads unless they are with us, to some extent. I guess one can never be too careful with net. Anyways, the crowning moment came two days back. He asked me if I could buy a pack of Rochers chocolates for ‘her’ since this Sunday is her birthday. Good God! I screamed at him –‘whatttttttttttttttttttttt, how dare you ask me that when you did not give me even a candy on my birthday which was just last week!!! And I gave him a speech about feelings, care etc and told him charity 'must' begin from home . For that he said ‘But this is not a charity thing’!! ‘Oh whatever’ I replied. He said -I am sorry I know I made a mistake but could you please buy that!! I said ‘NOOOOOOOOOOOO, you start buying stuff for your girl friends when you have a job and not from your father’s pocket! My husband who was driving warned us both that if we don’t stop he will stop the vehicle in the middle of the road and go out. So we both decided to shut up for the time being. Yesterday when we went out, I found myself looking for that chocolates and ended up buying a pack of Cadburys assorted box. I thought devilishly –‘I am not going to spend 250rs for that girl, hmm NO WAY’. This is when I saw the future ‘mil’ in me peeking out! And I hated myself for that. The kid was surprised to see the chocolates packed in gift wrap. Today he brought back one candy that she gave him from that packet and gave it to me. :). I told him if he wants he can keep the wrap for safe keeping.:). I decided no matter how bad I might or might not feel about his having feelings for another female;),I am going to keep my feelings in a box ,lock it and throw the key away..
