I actually went to see that girl’s mother last week. She was alone there and asked me if I heard about what happened to her daughter. I just asked her- what do you want me to hear? She started crying and told me the story. She told me how she wanted her daughter to be safe and see what happened to her. She said the doctor asked her to see for herself the condition her daughter was in before fixing her up. She had all over her body all the signs of a brutal rape.
And she told me others are creating new stories every day, one of them being she went there to have an abortion because she had an affair with that creature. Another story was that it was just a consensual sex, and I told her if all females who has normal sex needs immediate surgery afterwards, doctors would be busy all the time..I don’t know what kind of dumb, nonsense stories people are making, they are ready to believe everything except the true story.
You asked about the mother who settled for 3 lakh.. A female who is not educated and has no income, whose husband knows nothing but to make money and spent it on drinks, what else can she do? Their relatives advised her to leave the issue as it would be bad for the girl in future!! As if nobody knows what happened to her! I just told her if she feels like doing something to that creature, she should by all means go for it. There are people who could help her, but she has to seek help. Not doing anything will not help her. There are organizations to help her like Vanitha commission etc, I can only tell her this much, cannot forcibly make her move and do something.
