Road safety

The number of very young, under aged kids riding motor bikes and other vehicles are alarmingly increasing. How can the parents let these kids drive when they are below the age of driving?

I saw two days back a very young school kid speeding away through Kowdiar in a zig zag way. I tried to get a picture of him in my phone, but didn’t come out good. How can we make the parents aware of this serious issue and keep our kids safe. I don’t think any parents would love to see their kids coming back home in an ambulance, lifeless. But by letting these small kids drive on our roads, that’s exactly what they are going to get and they need to make a stop to this tendency. The parents are faking ignorance of this grave mistake they are doing and often seems proud in saying ‘my 15 year old dropped me off at the bus stop’.
Our roads are not safe to begin with. I wish and pray our traffic police will take active interest in stopping these kids from driving. There are so many reports of 14-16 yr olds getting killed in road accidents in which the vehicles lost control and hit something. None of the reports have commented seriously on the real issues here. Uncontrollable speed and reckless driving along with their age is a very good recipe for accidents. The reports are full of sympathy and how the light of one house is vanished etc etc. Not one of them said anything about why the accident took place and how to stop it. If you are driving in a minimum speed even if you lose control somehow, the seriousness of the injury may not be that bad. You may be able to walk out with a few scratches; you won’t end up dead on the road side.

When even the best riders find it difficult to drive through our roads, on what basis are we letting our kids be on the road and stay home calmly?

Our roads are death traps. And then if kids start driving, there is no worse combination.
I don't know how responsible parents can allow their children do such grave mistakes. The problem is worse in gulf countries. When such irresponsible kids enter the highways, they put the lives of many others in danger.Last year, one of my patients who was around thirty years was driving with her two young kids when she was hit by a kid driving a car.
We cant fight all deaths. But,we can avoid these tragedies.

Who carea, they live in a ridiculously careless family, society. Understand your concern, as somebody who may knock these guys down one day and get bashed up for that
