Serving the nation...

People wonder, “Isn’t he crazy?” Leaving a comfortable life in the US behind and coming back to India to join the Territorial Army as a lieutenant? Not many people have even heard about the TA much. Thanks to Mohanlal for giving it a little bit of publicity though he got his title as an honor and others have to go through hard training to get the titles. So now when people ask if he is going because of Mohanlal , I say no because he started the paper work long before Mohanlal got the honorary title as a Lt Colonel.

Sometimes I even feel some people are just crazy, though maybe for all the right reasons! His career took a full 360 turn which took him off to a totally different path than the ones he had walked through before. Some people have a dream life given to them in a platter. Some people just dream about it and leave it at that. But there are some people who work hard for it and fulfill their dream. I am yet to fathom the changes in my life this is going to bring- To start doing things all by me after years of not doing them is only a small hurdle to begin with. He says “Consider this as a training period for both my son and myself to start doing things on our own!” Yeah right!

There are a thousand and one things that bother me and make me want to call him and ask how to do it. I am already worried about the school’s annual day which is not even anywhere in the near future and I wonder how am I going to drive at night! He knows I hate driving even in day time. He simply says you will be fine. Big deal!

When I met our family doctor yesterday he asked me, “What made him take this decision?” I said, “He used to say, ‘Live your life like you are living a life that’s worth living and not just for the sake of living.’” When he had a choice to choose to do something that he really wanted to do for a long time rather than doing the same monotonous work that he has been doing for years, he didn’t hesitate to make the right choice. He is fully aware of the changes it is going to bring to his life.

Everything happens for good, I believe. I am proud of him and will try to drag my unwilling foot to start moving for a change:)
