Then we went to Madhura. Reached there by 2 pm. The temple was closed till 4 pm so we decided to go and see the Thirumalanaick palace. One thing I found confusing was seeing the paintings. They go back to 100s of years but they all looked fresh! I wished they put some writings to say if those were in their original form or re-done by other artists. It was difficult to say. The palace looked okay but not too impressive. Then we came back to the famous Madhura Meenakshi temple. We saw the long line of people waiting to go inside the temple.
We also got a lot of old Tamil movies from a shop from the nearby street like Veerapandya Kattabomman, Arasikattilai ,Kannaki etc etc.
Finally we visited a friend who was in Madhura and started back home at around 6.15 pm. Reached home by 11pm.
