Mil wanted to go to a temple, Mandakkad, about 1 and half hours away from home. So we decided to go there last Sunday. Usually on almost every single trip we make I would be going in a bad mood, because we will always start later than we planned to. When I say late, it could be anywhere from 5 minutes to ten minutes, never later than that. But I will still be upset that we are late. And it always ends up in me in a sour mood and everybody else in the same mood for some time! This time for the first time I was totally in peace. I didn’t care that instead of 6.30 we left at 8 a.m .
I think all these places are losing their natural beauty day by day. It is pathetic to see how such beautiful places are being destroyed slowly but surely. From Mandakkad we went to another nearby temple, called Murukan koil, it sits on a hill top. This place is still retaining most of its natural beauty to an extent. But I saw plastic sacks and trash almost everywhere. Coming back from the temple, my son for the first time saw a palm reader with a parrot, reading someone’s palm. We thought we all can have some fun and decided to do a family palm reading time. The smart parrot took out a Murukan picture. That guy said almost all the things that normally suits a typical teenager including that my son is very stubborn and gets angry so fast and don’t listen to elders. He was laughing when he heard it, as the kid is just the opposite. Then I showed my hand, there came the picture of Goddess Lekshmi . Then for my husband the parrot took the picture of Krishnan. For my mil the picture of Thiruppathy God came. He did say there is going to be a function, like a wedding in the family and she is sure to get a feast... ,I heard my mother-in-law saying ‘who else is there in our family to get married except myself’!! In the end, he said he can see some problems and if we give him 150 rupees he can solve it easily. We said will come later and left.
