Devika

I loved that posting/poem.

I am glad she got a good listener instead of a sink full of dishes.Though i wonder, how many would do,what you did for that child.Imagine what would be going through that tiny mind if she was left to wash those dishes/do the jobs? I often wonder what could be going through those minds when i see kids in those situation. A boy comes to my home back in India to help my mil. He comes there when he has no school,to avoid being at his home.We heared his parents gives him liquor! He is not even 13! My mil let him stay there and help her with the plants, most of the weekends. She told me he even asked her to advice his mother not to drink or give him drinks... One thing is,those kids happens to be so practical and survive anywhere in the world... since they don't have this blanket of protection from anybody else..
I remember,my son when he was about 4 years old,saw a girl his age in chennai, begging. He asked why she was out there alone and asking for money ?When we tried to explain,he couldn 't bear it,he started crying , the whole day he was sad. He made us give money to whoever he saw begging , that day. Now,he tries to give them food, instead of money, since he learned giving money may not be the best idea.

Is that flower-nanthyarvattam? Nothing beats the innocence of that flower. Its so pure.

Oh this is a surprise , Meera...i lose followup links and miss reaching on time...

yeah, our small gestures of love and kindness and our children -- the privileged ones knowing the lives of not-so-privileged others are things that could bring changes to us and the world around us...

yes, thats Nanthyarvattam I think..not so sure, because the photo isn't by an Indian...and it didn't give the name :)

thank you so much for this kindness, Meera...I feel obliged..and blessed to have friends like you :)

wishes,
devika
