Our next stop was at Jallianwala bagh, just a few minutes’ walk from Golden temple. We went inside through the narrow path were the soldiers stood and started firing at the masses of people gathered inside. We saw the infamous well which became the graveyard for many who tried desperately to hide from the flying bullets. The well is covered but lots of plastic bottles found their way inside somehow. We also saw the bullet marks on the walls of the building nearby. The surrounding buildings had new paintings but the old wooden windows and doors looked like they were untouched and left as they were ever since they were made. It was hard to believe that there might have been people living on those buildings when the massacre took place!
