I am home. The past couple of weeks went like crazy! Since we got a good deal in tickets we decided to leave two weeks early. That meant cleaning the house, packing etc within 3, 4 days! It was totally totally crazy but we did it. How many times we (actually him)unpacked and packed the bags to include one last minute item, have no idea. I had to pack right from the first fallen tooth of my son to the three beautiful paintings on concrete slabs, each weighing at least about 5 pounds ! For each ‘last item ‘ I put in the bags I also say this is the last one I really really really want to take back home, and we don’t have to do it again.. . Anyways, with the regular 6 bags that was allowed, we also had 3 more bags and 6 bags send through USPS.
I must say, we never had a travel this easy before! A friend drove us 4 hours to the airport since the small airport we had in our city wont allow the extra bags. The friend who is also a Taekwondo student of my husband’s was crying half the time. I need to write the whole experience we had with our friends in the past week, in a different post. She left with tears in her eyes after dropping us off.
We had a flight to Abudhabi which was 13 hours and some more minutes. One and half hour stop over there and an almost 4 hours to Trivandrum (TVM). It all went smooth. We didn’t loose any bags!!! By 4 am we were at our home. I am yet to recover from the jetlag. Sleeping peacefully in the day time and very active by 8 pm at night;(\
Kamini, yes, Trivandrum is my favorite place too.
ayyo:),I need to catch up on all my favorite blogs. Yes the kid speaks and writes Malayalam. It is not as perfect like we say but he can easily communicate. We are looking to get him in to an international school here.
So you are considering moving to a foreign country? I would say, try it, and learn new cultures and make new friends. You know you can always come back home when you feel enough of the foreign lands:).
