The movie I would say is like a beautiful song

I saw this movie by Padmarajan,'Njan Gandharvan'. in my teens. What a beautiful movie. The hero and heroine were perfect for the roles they played, considering who made the movie, its no wonder. The actor who played Krishnan in Mahabharatam serial, played the role of Gandharvan,Nitish Bharadwaj. He was the perfect one for the role of that happy, mischievous, handsome Gandharvan ! The fantasy-filled imagination of a teenager was very well played by Suparna. She looks so natural, innocent and as happy as a free spirit teenager could be .When she sees the room filled with fireflies we could also see the same glow in her eyes...
The songs in this movie also are out of the world, sung by none other than the Gandharvan in the music world,Jesudas. The one i love the most is this one- Devanganangal..
How much I wished to have such a Gandharvan for me in those days. I have heared stories about how bad those Gandharvans could be too. However, one like this in that movies, I thought would be a perfect companion for girls that age! No one else can see them, and they even can help you in your exams! I wished so much for a Gandharvan ,whom I could keep inside a pendant and wear it on my neck, like the girl in that movie. After that movie, when I saw statues I used to double check to see, if there is any life hidden inside them!

I watched that movie again. I still remember most of the scenes so well. Towards the end of the movie, he was telling her about a curse that Gandharvans has. They wouldn’t remember anything that happened on earth when they go back. I think that itself is a blessing . Otherwise, how can they live remembering all those beautiful moments they spend together the rest of their lives ,and dying a thousand deaths each seconds, when they know they can never ever see each other again? How excruciating would be that pain when you constantly think about the lost love and knows you can never ever get to see them or talk to them for even once? So I guess, the curse the Gandharvan has, of forgetting everything happened on earth is actually a blessing… but then, who knows only a Gandharvan could tell..
