We went to Neyyar dam. Just like when we visited Ponmudi, the way to Neyyar dam, especially to the Elephant ride Park, seemed like a totally different world. Not much people at all to be seen, wet greenery all around as the result of a recent rain. My son wanted to have an elephant ride and i didn't want to.So my mil offered to go with my son. She is more adventurous than me.They had a nice ride on top of Jayasree. That's her name. The mahout was asking me to come near and touch her. Good lord,i was so scared. But i did. She felt so warm. But then i did the mistake of looking up and ended up looking straight at her eyes! i had eye to eye contact with the elephant. Her eyes were kind of red and she looked directly at me. We both stared at each other for a few seconds and i looked down. I was so scared thinking what if she decides to give me a kick! I didn't like the look on her eyes. This was the first time i was staring at an elephant this close! Still We had a great time:)

PS: On the poem...thanks Meera :)
Hi:)
Greetings:)
Although I am here in Kochi, I have not been to Neyyar dam although everybody talks about it.
Probably there were not many people because it is the rainy season here. It would have been nice if you had to ride on the elephant. I wouldn't have done it myself. Fear of the elephant or fear of falling down. I don't know.
Your MIL is a very brave person.
I'm glad to know you are enjoying your holidays.
Lovely photos.
Have a great holiday. I wonder what you will take back. Banana chips, cashew nuts :)
